Sustainable development is becoming increasingly important in the life of companies, institutions and governance priorities. A major element of this problem, the Waste of Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) includes waste from any device that uses electrical or electromagnetic energy. Classified as toxic/hazardous in Cameroon, this waste has been subject to strict legislation since 2012. Thus, Order No. 005 MINEPDED/MINCOMMERCE of 24/10/2012 obliges professional organisations to entrust their WEEE to an approved structure for their treatment.
The Centre for Recovery and Recycling of Solidarité Technologique has been the first officially approved structure for the management of waste of electrical and electronic equipment in Cameroon since 2013.
On April 10th , 2017, the Minister of the Environment, Nature Protection and Sustainable Development renewed his confidence in us by renewing our environmental permit for the sorting, collection, storage, recovery, recycling and treatment of all categories of waste of electrical and electronic equipment.
In order to work in a concrete way towards the environmentally sound treatment of WEEE and the outreach of ICTs, Solidarité Technologique offers a range of services to companies and organisations.
